Competitors to major matches held at USSA are welcome to ship their firearms and ammo. Please follow the guidelines below to streamline the process and keep in mind that at a major match we will be handling LOTS of packages from competitors.
- Please securely package your equipment with lots of protection. Bubble wrap and extra sheets of cardboard will help protect your expensive guns from damage and your ammo from spraying all over a UPS shipping facility.
- Mark your ammo packages ORM-D to comply with shipping regulations. Be sure your guns are unloaded in the packages.
- Do not try to ship aerosol cleaners via air (next day or second day shipments). Your package may not make it here.
- Your local UPS Store or FedEx Kinko's may not accept firearms. To be sure, take them in person to your town's central carrier shipping facility.
- Ship firearms and ammo to USSA care of yourself. For example, ship to USSA c/o John Doe or ATTN John Doe. This ensures you stay legal with ATF regulations.
- Please, please, please mark the outside of your packages with your name and the match your shipment is for. This will help us keep packages segregated by match.
- Try to pick up your packages at least the day before the match starts. On match day it's going to be very hectic.
If your package is marked, we will not open it before handing it to you upon arrival unless it appears damaged. If the package looks bad we will open it and contact you if necessary to let you know if there is a problem. Please make sure you have a sheet with your contact info inside the box where it is easily found.
