Q: How do I check in for class?
A: Most classes require that the student arrive at the classroom no later than 0830 (8:30 a.m.) to finalize their paperwork and registration documents. The USSA classroom will not be open until that time, so please don't show up any earlier!
Q: How long are most classes (what time will I be done)?
A: Most USSA classes will finish at about 5 p.m., unless an after hours training event is scheduled such as a night fire. Students who want to catch a flight after graduation should schedule a flight no earlier than 6:30 or 7:00 p.m..
Q: Can I rent a gun at USSA?
A: Yes. USSA has a full line of rental handguns and rifles.
Q: Does USSA sell ammunition, targets, etc.?
A: Yes. USSA’s Pro Shop will be stocked with all of our customer’s needs.
Q: What gear do I need to bring to class?
A: A detailed gear list can be found on most class descriptions on the website. USSA will also send out a gear list upon receipt of your registration. Please contact us with any questions prior to class at 866-441-USSA!
Q: What do I do for lunch?
A: There are a variety of restaurants within 10 minutes of the range. You may also bring a lunch and rest in our lodge during class breaks.
Q: Where is USSA located, I can't find it on google or mapquest.
A: The U.S. Shooting Academy is located at 6500 E. 66th N., Tulsa, but you may not find our address on mapping programs. If you try to locate the Tulsa Police Academy, we physically share their driveway, and that address is 6066 E. 66th N. Tulsa. This address is searchable on most mapping programs. Just enter the driveway and look left, you can't miss our 93 acre facility, which has two entrances on the left, take the second one!
Q: Does USSA offer Law Enforcement or Military Discounts?
A: Yes. ACTIVE full time Law Enforcement officers and Active/Retired Military will receive a 5% discount on Membership and Class prices (this discount may or may not be added to other discounts, a maximum of 10%, for more information please contact USSA sales at 866-441-USSA).
Q: Can I shoot aerial shotgun targets (clay birds)?
A: Yes. Hand thrown clay birds may be shot on range SO1.
Q: Can I shoot targets other than paper and steel, such as cans, bottles, etc?
A: No.
Q: Where do I park?
A: In the large south parking lot next to the Maintenance Building.
Q: Will someone be available to fix my gun?
A: In most cases, there will be trained personnel who can diagnose and possibly fix the problem on site. Gunsmith services are also available for more advanced problems.
Q: When can I use the lodge?
A: The lodge can be used any time within the hours of operations. The Grand Room can also be reserved.
Q: Is there personal instruction available?
A: Yes. USSA instructors are available to teach one-on-one, or via specialized tutorials. They can be scheduled through USSA’s sales department at (866) 441-8772 option 1 or at UsShootingAcademy.com.
Q: Can I observe other USSA classes?
A: Only upon approval of the Director of Training.
Q: Am I liable for USSA rental equipment?
A: Yes. Fees for lost or damaged equipment will be charged on a case-by-case basis.
Q: Am I required to wear a hat?
A: No, but recommended.
Q: When I graduate from a USSA class, how do I use my 30-day trial membership?
A: USSA alumni must provide a copy of his/her class certificate at the membership orientation where they will be issued a temporary membership card. The 30 day trial will start on the date of orientation.
