Instructor
Michael Brown is a sergeant with the Tulsa Police Department, currently assigned to the Office of Integrity and Compliance. Brown’s prior assignments with the Tulsa Police Department include the firearms training staff as well as the defensive tactics training staff. Brown has over 400 hours of advanced level firearms training and holds numerous instructor certifications. Brown is certified as an instructor in defensive tactics by Monadnock, Casco, and PPCT. Brown was the first full-time law enforcement officer to be certified as a four-gun master by the International Defensive Pistol Association. Brown has been the high law enforcement officer at the 1998 through 2002 Oklahoma I.D.P.A. Championships. In addition, he has received his department’s Medal of Valor, Lifesaving Award, and Medal of Commendation. Brown serves as USSA’s lead instructor for CQT and is also intricately involved in all handgun and rifle training programs.
