Work on the NRA’s Marksmanship Qualification Program and test your skills while getting in some
training at the same time.
You do not need to be an NRA member to participate.
Upon successful completion of each level: Pro-Marksman, Marksman, Sharpshooter, Expert and
Distinguished Expert, a certificate is awarded.
Each level must be completed before advancing to the next.
COST: $25, this covers your range fee, targets and certification when qualified.
Time: 1-2 hours
Class size is limited to 10 students

Requirements for Sharpshooter Tactical Rifle Qualification are as follows:
Phase 1:
> Shooter will be shooting from the Standing position, strong side.
> Range is 25 yards with a 9” paper plate target with 6” black ring. There is no time limit. Shooter will
fire 10 rounds, 2 magazines with 5 rounds in each. You must shoot the upper plate with 5 shots,
change mags & 5 shots to the lower plate.
> A minimum of 7 shots must be inside the black ring to pass.
> Ammunition: minimum 10 rounds
Phase 2:
Shooter will be shooting from the standing to Kneeling position, strong side.
> Range is 25 yards with a 9” paper plate target with 6” black ring. Shooter will fire 10 rounds, 2
magazines with 5 rounds in each. You must shoot the upper plate with 5 shots, change mags & 5
shots to the lower plate.
> A minimum of 7 shots must be inside the black ring to pass.
> Ammunition: minimum 10 rounds
Phase 3:
> Shooter will be shooting from the Prone position, strong side.
> Range is 25 yards with a 9” paper plate target with a 6” black ring. There is no time limit, and you
must shoot the Lower Plate with 5 shots, a minimum of 4 shots must be inside the black ring to pass.
> Ammunition: minimum 5 rounds
All plates must be shot in same session/day.
Requirements for Sharpshooter Tactical Rifle Qualification are as follows:
Phase 1:
> Shooter will be shooting from the Standing position, strong side.
> Range is 7 yards with five 9” paper plate targets. There is no time limit, you shoot 2 rounds
into each plate, 7 shots must be inside the black ring.
> Ammunition: minimum 10 rounds
Phase 2:
> Shooter will be shooting from the Standing position, strong side.
> Range is 7 yards, with five 9” paper plate targets. There is no time limit, you shoot 2 shots into
bottom left, 1 shot into top left, 2 shots bottom right target, 1 shot top right target. A minimum of 3
shots must be inside the black ring to pass.
> Ammunition: minimum 6 rounds
Phase 3:
> Shooter will be shooting from the Standing Barricade position, strong side & weak side.
> Range is 15 yards with 9” Paper plate target. There is no time limit. Load 2 magazines with 10 rounds
each, 2 shots each target right of barricade and 2 shots each target left of barricade.
> A minimum of 10 shots must be inside the black ring to pass each side.
> Ammunition: minimum 20 rounds
Phase 4:
> Shooter will shoot from the Standing, Kneeling, Prone, Kneeling then Standing position
strong side.
> Range is 30 yards with a 9” paper plate. There is no time limit, you will shoot 2 rounds from each
position at center target. A minimum of 5 shots (total) must be inside the ring to pass.
> Ammunition: minimum 10 rounds.
Phase 5:
> Shooter will shoot from the Kneeling position from the left and right side of barricade.
> Range is 60 yards at a silhouette target. Load 2 magazines with 5 rounds each, 5 shots right side,
mag change, 5 shots left side. A minimum of 5 shots (total) must be inside the ring to pass.
> Ammunition: minimum 10 rounds.
Phase 6:
> Shooter will shoot from the Standing, Kneeling, Prone position strong side.
> Range is 60 yards at a silhouette target. There is no time limit. Load 1 magazine with 5 rounds and 1
magazine with 10 rounds. Shoot 5 shots standing, change mags, 5 shots kneeling and 5 shots prone.
> A minimum of 9 shots (total) must be inside the ring to pass.
> Ammunition: minimum 15 rounds.
Phase 7:
> Shooter will shoot from the Standing, Kneeling, Prone, Kneeling then Standing position strong side.
> Range is 100 yards with a silhouette target. There is no time limit, you will shoot 2 rounds from each
position at center ring. A minimum of 7 shots (total) must be inside the ring to pass.
> Ammunition: minimum 10 rounds.
Shooter has choice to do either one or can do both.
